The Risk Manager is responsible for monitoring, managing and reporting on the following risk categories both for BCB Payments (Switzerland) AG and assist the Group Head of Risk in managing them across BCB Group:
- Operational risk (predominantly settlement risk).
- Liquidity risk.
- Market risk (FX and cryptocurrency markets).
- Counterparty credit risk
The risk manager will work across BCB Group’s international structure and ensure both a regulatory compliant view for individual legal entities, as well as contribute to a consistent group-wide risk view.
In this role, the risk manager will work with internal and external stakeholders to continually align the risk management framework and -metrics with the growth path that BCB Group experiences.
- Establishing, documenting and evolving risk policies and practises for BCB Payments (Switzerland) AG, in alignment with group policies and FINMA guidelines.
- Drive implementation of appropriate checks, balances and internal control system in BCB Payments (Switzerland) AG.
- Define limits for counterparties, clients and business lines and ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are in place to monitor limits.
- Plan, monitor, allocate and manage regulatory capital.
- Closely monitor and actively manage all categories of risk, (operational, credit, market, strategic, liquidity and model risks).
- Developing, managing and refining qualitative and quantitative risk reporting which meets the needs of the Board of Directors and senior stakeholders in order to support effective decision making.
- Produce and evolve regular risk reporting to the Risk Committees of the relevant boards.
- Ensure ongoing oversight of everyday risk management activities that are owned by the 1st line of defence.
- Partner with Compliance to establish, maintain and enforce country manuals for cross-border business.
- Work closely with key 1st line of defence stakeholders in order to enable efficient and effective risk management across payments and trading lines of business.
- Support the 1st line in maintaining the company’s risk profile and determining and implementing risk mitigation strategies.

- Strong risk management experience in a financial institution in Switzerland.
- Good understanding of payments schemes (SIC / EuroSIC, SEPA, SWIFT).
- Previous exposure to cryptocurrencies in a risk context is a plus.
- Good understanding of the regulatory requirements of risk management (FINMA) for non-prudentially supervised firms.
- Fundamental understanding of OTC trading workflows.
- Fundamental understanding of bank treasury needs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Can-do approach to problem solving.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
- Excellent verbal and written English and German language skills.
- Experience with derivative instruments is a plus.

- FRM, BTRM certificates are a plus.
