As the group enters a period of significant growth both in terms of revenue and geography, the financial operations of the business rightly come under greater scrutiny. To help the group scale appropriately we are looking for an individual with vision to enable us to improve and establish robust processes and controls within the finance function.
We have just migrated from Xero to Netsuite and this role will be assisting the Financial Controller to implement rigorous controls and processes, to ensure process documentation is maintained and streamline the monthly reporting process to achieve a week 1 close across the Group.
It is a hands-on BAU role and will involve project work as and when required. As the first point of contact for the FC, the role will be primarily concentrating on the UK side of business and there is significant scope for growth in not only the role but within the firm as it expands.
If you can demonstrate some of the following experience/skills below, we would love to have a conversation.
Fully qualified accountant with minimum 5 years PQE.
Experience in high growth startup (knows how to deal with the stresses) AND more established businesses (knows what good looks like).
Experience in managing and upskilling a team and have the ability to influence colleagues and to encourage them to work within a disciplined financial framework.
Demonstrable integrity, problem solving and delivery capabilities.
Knowledge of internal audit controls and local tax regulations.
Ability to work to tight daily and monthly deadlines.
Good working knowledge of Google Apps, notably Google sheets.
Experience of Netsuite, an advantage.
Language skills, notably French or German, an advantage.
Roles and Responsibilities
Assist the FC to build a management accounting function fit for our scale, sector and regulation, making it work efficiently and documenting processes.
Manage the UK monthly close of all accounting processes, notably AR, AP, GL including Accruals, Prepayments and VAT schedules and review month-end reconciliations prepared by the team prior to FC sign off.
Learn all finance tasks so that emergency cover can be provided if required.
Daily management of cash flow forecasting for review with FC.
Deliver first draft of UK monthly management accounts and variance analysis suitable for all stakeholders.
Liaise with budget holders to present monthly reports and ensure internal financial policies are being adhered to in terms of cost control.
