Armin Ranjbar joins BCB Group as Chief Technology Officer

London and Amsterdam, 4th June 2025: BCB Group has appointed Armin Ranjbar as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to help drive the company’s next phase of expansion.

Ranjbar has more than 20 years’ experience in technology development in financial services, with particular expertise in stablecoin infrastructure and machine learning.

“This is a great moment to be joining BCB Group,” said Ranjbar. “There is a strong business and technology platform already in place and there are huge opportunities to grow that infrastructure to operate even more effectively across more jurisdictions and comply with different regulators.”

Oliver Tonkin, BCB Group’s Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, said Ranjbar’s experience and skills were a perfect fit for BCB.

“Armin brings a wealth of experience in blockchain and financial services technology, combined with experience scaling his own companies. The combination of tech expertise and commercial focus with a real understanding of emerging regulation aligns perfectly with BCB’s strategy and ethos,” said Tonkin.

Immediately prior to joining BCB, Ranjbar was founder and CTO at Flux Computer – a company set up to use distributed processing to deliver lower-cost machine learning – and Co-founder and CTO at wealth management fintech Bonsai Smart Wealth.

Ranjbar’s other experience includes working as a software engineer at IBM and at Emirates NBD, one of the leading banks in the United Arab Emirates. He was also previously CTO at stablecoin infrastructure company Fluent Finance. He identified stablecoin solutions as one of the most promising areas in blockchain.

“Facilitating truly stable tokens on a transparent global ledger is one of the most valuable uses of blockchain and it’s an area on which BCB will be focusing. It all comes back to the transaction times and costs of payment systems, an area where stablecoin is very hard to beat,” said Ranjbar.

Alongside the development of new products and services at BCB, Ranjbar will be working on machine learning and AI technologies.

“One of my goals is to investigate how we can incorporate that technology into our day-to-day operations, from product development and coding to console engineering. The potential to expand performance and productivity with AI is huge,” Ranjbar said.
